Less crowded and better prices on non sale items than ingles even though owned by same company
This place is so fun to do business with. If you shop here regularly they learn your name and speak to you personally. It's always an adventure to see what's new in the bargain bins. Hmmm, what can I make with chocolate-covered garbanzo beans. :-) The produce is acceptable (go down the road to Ingles if you want top-quality produce). The meat department carries a lot of unusual things you don't see often - sides of corned beef for example, or brisket, or a full side of beef ribs at times. Goat gizzards, chicken feet and chitlins, beef tongue and pig knuckles. Might not be my cup o' tea, but who am I to judge? Any Sav-Mor you go to will remind you of a store from your childhood. Lot of fun.
Also meat is sold here, including specific cuts of meat that may be less common than in more mainstream grocers. For example, chicken and pig feet, tripe, cow hearts and tongues.
I shop here sometimes. I really like "the bins" there with random marked down item. They sell discounted foods and laundry detergent by the gallon. They have a fairly nice produce section but a weak beer selection.
The Mexican products section is what really shines here. They have extensive selections of all sorts of Mexican stuff and brands. I think this is neat.
Mostly very unhealthy stuff mainly expired.
But they will exchange it for you if it is spoiled
I like how you can usually get soda on sale. A bit hard to maneuver through the aisles when they are stocking. Pretty good store.
